Editorial: Mio Sugita not fit to serve as Japan lawmaker due to human rights violations October 2 コピー時計 N級品  2023 (Mainichi Japan) Japanese version Mio Sugita emerges after a general meeting of the Liberal Democratic Party's Abe faction at the party's headquarters in Tokyo's Chiyoda Ward on Aug. 17, 2023. (Mainichi/Kan Takeuchi) A regional legal affairs bureau in Japan has accused Mio Sugita, a House of Representatives member of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), of violating human rights for posting discriminatory statements on her blog. It is an extraordinary state of affairs where a Diet member's past speech and behavior have been recognized as infringing upon human rights by a government agency. Even after the bureau's recognition コピーブランド服  Sugita has provided no public explanation over the matter. Despite being in an influential position regarding what she says, she has made discriminatory remarks and actions over and over again. We have to say she is no longer qualified as a lawmaker. In a 2016 post, Sugita referred to people from Japan who took part in a meeting of the United Nations Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women, stating, "There were even old female cosplayers in chima jeogori (traditional Korean attire) and ethnic costumes of Ainu. They are totally lacking in integrity." At the time ブランドコピー靴  Sugita was out of office after losing an election. Her post is derogatory against ethnic Koreans and Ainu culture and is intolerable. Regardless, she refused to remove her post following reelection to the lower house. It wasn't until December last year that she finally retracted the post and apologized before the Diet. Her move came at the instruction of the internal affairs and communications minister after she was grilled in the Diet as then parliamentary vice minister for internal affairs and communications. Yet even after that 時計スーパーコピー  she claimed that her blog remarks were "not discriminatory." Those targeted by her blog posts filed a claim that they were made victims earlier this year under the Ministry of Justice's human rights relief system. The legal affairs bureau took an educational measure to encourage her to respect human rights. There are countless examples of Sugita's speech and behavior that offend the dignity of others. In a 2018 contribution to a monthly magazine, she referred to sexual minorities, saying, "They don't have children, which means they are unproductive." During an LDP working group meeting in 2020, she spoke of victims of sexual violence, saying, "Women can tell lies as much as they want." She was ordered to pay damages to journalist Shiori Ito for pressing "likes" for a number of posts slandering her. The LDP has nevertheless taken no resolute action against Sugita. Conversely, the party has given preferential treatment to her, placing her on a list of LDP candidates running solely in proportional representation blocs in the two most recent general elections. Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, who heads the LDP, appointed her to a key government post. Even after the legal affairs bureau's acknowledgement of her human rights violations, LDP Secretary-General Toshimitsu Motegi went no further than simply commenting, "It's regrettable." Sugita has recently been appointed to a key post within the LDP. Respecting human rights is the basis of politics. If the LDP keeps overlooking its legislator's infringement of human rights スーパーコピー財布  the party's wisdom will be called into question.
