Chiba Prefectural Police are concurrently investigating the case on suspicion of indecent assault. According to the complaint, the teacher repeatedly molested the girl from February 2018, when she was in fifth grade, touching her body while she was in the gym bathroom. He also allegedly touched her chest underneath her clothes. The indecent acts were allegedly persistent and continued for a long time. Noting that she has been unable to attend classes for an extended period, the plaintiffs argue in the lawsuit that the girl's right to learn was infringed upon due to a breach of duty by the school and education boards.
